Diego Milito scored both goals as Inter Milan sealed an historic treble and ended a 45-year wait to be crowned kings of Europe after defeating Bayern Munich in the Champions League final in Madrid.

Milito struck in the 34th and 70th minutes as Inter became the first Italian team to win the treble of league, cup and European Cup in the same season, whilst ending German double-winners Bayern's hopes of doing likewise.

Madrid opens arms to football festival

With Club Atlético de Madrid's celebrations following their UEFA Europa League triumph still fresh in the memory, the Spanish capital is ready for another football fiesta as the countdown commences towards Saturday's UEFA Champions League final between FC Bayern München and FC Internazionale Milano at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Both sides travel to Madrid on a high after completing their domestic doubles at the weekend and with local issues now decided, attention turns to Europe with both looking to complete memorable campaigns by winning Europe's biggest club prize of all.

NEW DELHI - An Air India Express plane trying to land in the rain at a tricky hilltop airport in southern India overshot the runway, crashed and burst into flames at dawn Saturday, killing nearly 160 people, officials said. At least eight survived.

Dense black smoke billowed from the Boeing 737-800 aircraft surrounded by flames just outside Mangalore's Bajpe airport in a hilly area with thick grass and trees.

--Thomas and Uber Cup 2010--

The 2010 Thomas & Uber Cup is the 26th tournament of the Thomas Cup and 23rd tournament of the Uber Cup, the most important and most prestigious badminton tournaments in men's and women's team competition, respectively. The 2010 championships marks the Thomas & Uber Cup's 10 year return to Malaysia which has always seen great fan interest in the sport.

The final rounds are being held from May 9 to May 16 at Putra Indoor Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia which was also the same venue of the 2000 Thomas & Uber Cup.

China won the Thomas Cup after defeating Indonesia with 3-0 score. While Korea won the Uber Cup after defeating China with 3-1 score.

In some countries, Teachers' Days are intended to be special days for the appreciation of teachers. Some of them are holidays while others are celebrated during working days. World Teacher’s Day is celebrated across the world on 5th October, with great verve and enthusiasm. Ever since the importance of teachers has been recognized by UNESCO, by adopting the “Recommendation concerning the status of teachers”, World Teacher’s Day has been celebrated annually.
