--"Yesterday" (1965)--

"Yesterday" is a pop song originally recorded by The Beatles for their 1965 album Help!. According to the Guinness Book of Records, "Yesterday" has the most cover versions of any song ever written. The song remains popular today with more than 3,000 recorded cover versions, the first hitting the United Kingdom top 10 three months after the release of Help!. Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI) asserts that it was performed over seven million times in the 20th century alone. The song was not released as a single in the UK at the time of the US release, and thus never gained number 1 single status in that country.
~
However, "Yesterday" was voted the best song of the 20th century in a 1999 BBC Radio 2 poll of music experts and listeners.
~
"Yesterday" takes the form of a melancholic acoustic ballad about a break-up. It was the first official recording by The Beatles that relied upon a performance by a single member of the band — Paul McCartney was accompanied solely by a string quartet. The final recording differed so greatly from other works by The Beatles that the other three members of the band vetoed the release of the song as a single in the United Kingdom. Although credited to "Lennon/McCartney", the song was written solely by McCartney.

--Human Understanding--

Human behavior is absolutely fascinating. Observing people and trying to predict what they will do next can provide a real learning experience. Human behavior is quite predictable in many instances. Personalities can be extremely complex but there are areas that can be understood with a high degree of accuracy. That is part of the value in using validated personality assessments. It's a lot like on the job training in the human behavior department.
~
You are probably wondering how you would use that information.
If you are considering promoting an employee into a new position with higher levels of responsibility, wouldn't it be beneficial to know ahead of time how he would perform in the new job? You can also use this information and understanding when putting together a team to manage a new project. You will even know who should be assigned certain tasks in order to play to each members strengths instead of to their weaknesses.
~
All industries are having to handle technological change.
Which employees will be able to respond to those changes without difficulty? Which employees should be targeted for specialized or advanced training? Wouldn't it also be beneficial to know which employees would need supplemental or remedial training?
~
Another interesting fact about human beings is that they sometimes behave badly just because they don't know any other way to express themselves.
You can effectively spot those individuals and defuse potential problems before they ever get out of the box.
~
The more that you work with a personality assessment instrument, the more proficient you will become in understanding and reading people accurately.
This is an enormous help when interviewing and screening applicants or in conflict resolution. When you understand what is driving the behavior, you will be able to predict the outcome much more successfully. You will not become a guru overnight, but a little coaching can take you a long way very quickly.

--Kiss Off Stress--

~
One second: Swear
Researchers at England's University of East Anglia Norwich looked into leadership styles and found that using swear words can reduce stress and boost camaraderie among coworkers. Good luck, #!$*&^*@!
~
Five seconds: Pop fish oil
According to research from the University of Pittsburgh, people with the highest blood levels of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids are happier, less impulsive, and more agreeable. Try a daily supplement of 400 milligrams each of EPA and DHA fish oils.
~
10 seconds: Eat dark chocolate
A study published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences showed that the flavonoids in cocoa relax your body's blood vessels. Look for low-fat dark chocolate, which has more stress-busting flavonoids than milk chocolate.
~
30 seconds: Know your hoku
Acupressure is a quick tension releaser, according to researchers at Hong Kong Polytechnic University who found it can reduce stress by up to 39 percent. For fast relief, massage your hoku (the fleshy part between the thumb and index finger) for 20 to 30 seconds. "This is the universal pressure point for easing upper-body tension," says Patrice Winter, a spokeswoman for the American Physical Therapy Association.
~
30 seconds: Sit back
Forget what you've been told about sitting up straight to relieve tension in your back. Researchers at the University of Alberta Hospital in Canada found that leaning back at a 135-degree angle is the best sitting position for alleviating back pain.
~
One minute: Add garlic
Researchers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham believe they've figured out why garlic is good for heart health, and their finding implies it's a powerful stress buster too. When you digest garlic's main ingredient, organosulfur allicin, your body produces hydrogen sulfide, which relaxes blood vessels and increases blood flow.
~
Three minutes: Brew tea
In a study at University College in London, 75 men were given tea before completing two stressful tasks. Afterward, their cortisol levels dropped an average of 47 percent, compared with 27 percent for men who weren't given tea.
~
Five minutes: Take a YouTube timeout
Just the anticipation of laughing decreases the stress hormones dopac, cortisol, and epinephrine by 38, 39, and 70 percent, respectively, according to researchers at Loma Linda University in California. And when researchers at the University of Maryland showed short movie clips to study participants, those who watched funny films experienced a 22 percent increase in blood flow to their hearts.
~
Eight minutes: Budget wisely
"Money is the biggest source of stress for a man during the holidays," says Bonnie Eaker Weil, Ph.D., author of Financial Infidelity. And with good reason: Men who avoid making budgets spend an average of 36 percent more on holiday gifts than those who don't, according to a 2002 survey. So go easy on your wallet and your heart. Sit down with your wife and quickly calculate how much you two want to spend on gifts this year.
~
10 minutes: Just do it
Kissing or hugging your wife can reduce stress because it raises levels of oxytocin, the hormone associated with bonding and love, say researchers at the University of North Carolina. And a Scottish researcher found that having sex regularly lowers anxiety, stress, and blood pressure.

--Leaving On A Jet Plane--
All my bags are packed,
I'm ready to goI'm standin' here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
.
But the dawn is breakin', it's early morn
The taxi's waitin', he's blowin' his horn
Already I'm so lonesome I could die
.
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
.
'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go
.
There's so many times I've let you down
So many times I've played around
I'll tell you now, they don't mean a thing
.
Every place I go, I think of you
Every song I sing, I sing for you
When I come back I'll wear your wedding ring
.
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
.
'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go
.
Now the time has come to leave you
One more time, oh, let me kiss you
Then close your eyes and I'll be on my way
.
Dream about the days to come
When I won't have to leave alone
About the times that I won't have to say ...
.
Oh, kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
.
'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go
.
And I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go
.
But I'm leaving on a jet plane(Ah ah ah ah)
Leaving on a jet plane(Ah ah ah ah)
Leaving on a jet plane(Ah ah ah ah)
Leaving on a jet plane(Ah ah ah ah)
Leaving on a jet plane(Ah ah ah ah)
Leaving on a jet plane(Ah ah ah ah)
Leaving on a jet plane(Ah ah ah ah)
Leaving on a jet plane(Ah ah ah ah)

--Lexapro (SSRI)--

SSRIs are a type of antidepressant that can relieve the symptoms of depression, such as sadness and irritability. Learn how they work and what side effects they can cause.
Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are a newer class of antidepressant medications. The first drug in this class was fluoxetine (Prozac), which hit the U.S. market in 1987.
How SSRIs work
It's not clear precisely how SSRIs affect depression. Certain brain chemicals called neurotransmitters are associated with depression, including the neurotransmitter serotonin (ser-oh-TOE-nin). Some research suggests that abnormalities in neurotransmitter activity affect mood and behavior. SSRIs seem to relieve symptoms of depression by blocking the reabsorption (reuptake) of serotonin by certain nerve cells in the brain. This leaves more serotonin available in the brain. As a result, this enhances neurotransmission — the sending of nerve impulses — and improves mood. SSRIs are called selective because they seem to affect only serotonin, not other neurotransmitters.
Personality Structure and Out of Character Behavior
The neurotransmitters dopamine, epinephrine (adrenalin) and nor-epinephrine (nor-adrenalin) are called "catecholamine's" and they control the adrenergic systems in the central nervous system (CNS). They account for staying awake, mood, fight or flight response, etc... Serotonin is the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter modulating the excitatory catecholamine systems in the CNS.
Serotonin neurons control memory, mood, sex drive, etc... Serotonin, dopamine and nor-epinephrine (nor-adrenalin) are the key-neurotransmitters involved with the construction of your personality structure. Every drug that acts on the serotonergic system will affect (indirectly) the other neurotransmitter systems (dopaminergic, nor-adrenergic) in the brain (and visa-versa), thereby affecting your personality structure, your temperament, your character.
